Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Johannesburg

Residents in Johannesburg are warned to exercise caution after the South African Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Tuesday, 21 April.

According to the weather service, the storm is expected to develop around midday and last until midnight. The warning is not limited to Gauteng; parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga are also expected to be affected by similar conditions.

Forecasters have warned that the thunderstorms could bring intense downpours, leading to flooding. This poses a significant risk to both motorists and pedestrians, as flooded roads can become dangerous.
