Topping this year’s list is La Cúpula, Jiménez de Jamuz, a New York-based restaurant that claimed the number one spot. It considers the quality and origin of the meat, preparation methods, and the type of grill used.
With locations in Parkhurst and Bryanston, The Blockman has built a strong reputation over the years as one of the best places in Johannesburg to enjoy premium steak. Its continued presence on the list reflects its commitment to quality and consistency.
This is not the restaurant’s first recognition. In 2025, The Blockman ranked number 97 on the same prestigious list. Its return in 2026 proves that it has maintained its standards. The Bryanston branch, which opened in March 2025 on Winnie Mandela Drive (formerly William Nicol Drive), added a new dimension to the brand. The space features a wine cellar, private dining areas, and a bar, enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.
