Three approved marches will be taking place across Johannesburg on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has sent out a message to motorists, alerting them to traffic disruptions across the city on Tuesday morning.
Three approved marches will be taking place in and around the Johannesburg inner city, Hillbrow, and Midrand (Glen Austin) areas on 30 June 2026.
This means that road access and several routes will be impacted from 07h00 until 16h00 on the day.
Law enforcement teams, including JMPD and SAPS Public Order Policing, will be visible for all three marches and across the broader region to ensure safety for all involved.
A turnout of 5,000 participants is expected for the march, which will see those involved gathering from 08h30 at Beyers Naudé Square. The march is expected to start at 10h00 and end at 14h00. The purpose of the march is to shine a light on inner city safety, youth development, and community service access.
The approved route for the march is as follows:
A turnout of 1,200 participants is expected for the march, which will see those involved gathering from 08h00 at the intersection of Kotze Street and Hospital Street (Hillbrow / Constitution Hill). The march is expected to start at 09h00 and end at 12h00. The purpose of the march is to raise residents' concerns regarding illegal immigration policies and to engage with the Department of Home Affairs.
The approved route for the march is as follows:
A turnout of 800 participants is expected for the march, which will see those involved gathering from 09h00 at the Dale Road and Modderfontein Road open space. The march is expected to start at 10h00 and end at 12h00, with dispersal at 13h00. The purpose of the march is to submit a memorandum to the Midrand Industrial Park (M.I.P.) regarding local youth employment opportunities.

"Closures and rolling barricades will be implemented along these routes as the processions move. Please exercise extreme patience, follow the directions of JMPD and law enforcement officers on the ground, or plan your travel outside the inner city during these times," the JMPD says in a statement.
