Joburg’s pretty girl is coming home for an A*POP fan celebration ahead of her first global headline tour.

Tygers, clear your Sunday plans: Tyla is heading home to Joburg!
Fresh from the release of her second album, A*POP, the two-time Grammy winner will take over Gold Reef City on Sunday, 16 August, for a special fan appreciation event presented in partnership with South African Tourism and powered by Absa.
Released on 24 July, A*POP sees Tyla continue shaping her signature “popiano” sound, mixing pop, R&B and amapiano with house influences. The album also keeps its South African roots firmly in place, featuring collaborations with MaWhoo, Babalwa M and Liquideep, alongside Swedish pop star Zara Larsson.
The homecoming will give Tyla a chance to celebrate her new era with the hometown fans who supported her long before Water turned her into a global superstar.
“Whenever I’m home, I feel like myself again,” she says. “I love being surrounded by my people and my fans – it reminds me where I come from.”

Tyla is giving away 1,000 tickets to Sunday's event. All fans need to do to enter and secure a free ticket is create a TikTok video using a song from A*POP, taking her official account and use the following hashtag: #APOPGOLDREEFCITY.
Sundays' event runs from 9am to 5pm, giving fans a full day of A*POP energy at one of Tyla’s favourite childhood hangouts!
The singer will take A*POP worldwide later this year on her first full global headline tour. The 34-date run begins in Paris in October before travelling through Europe and North America.
Don't miss these two dates on the African leg of the tour, which ends in her home town.
