Just in time for winter, Mushroom Farm is giving residents a cosy place to warm up as temperatures drop.

As winter approaches and temperatures continue to dip across Johannesburg, there’s no better time for a new coffee destination to make its debut. Mushroom Farm Centre in Midrand has announced the opening of a new coffee shop, bringing warmth and flavour to the area.
Mushroom Farm Park will officially welcome Plato Coffee this weekend, with doors opening on 16 May. The brand has steadily grown in popularity across South Africa, with locations in Bedfordview, Rivonia, Bryanston, Stellenbosch, and Cape Town.
Known for its premium blends and bold flavours, Plato Coffee sets itself apart by roasting its own beans and offering freshly baked goods from its in-house bakery. This allows customers to enjoy not only quality coffee but also a selection of delicious treats in a relaxed setting.
Beyond coffee, the menu caters to a wider audience, offering refreshers and sodas for those seeking non-coffee options. At its core, the brand is also focused on building community, creating spaces where people can connect over good coffee and great taste.
The addition of Plato Coffee forms part of Mushroom Farm Centre’s ongoing expansion. In recent months, the centre has introduced several new stores, including Home HQ, which opened in April. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of dining and retail options already available at the centre, including Bootlegger Coffee Company, Checkers, Steers, KFC, and Mr Price.
With more additions on the way, Mushroom Farm Centre continues to position itself as a growing lifestyle hub in Midrand, just in time for residents to find their new favourite winter hangout.
