Belinda Davids is heading back home to South Africa for the 2026 edition of her Whitney Houston tribute show, The Greatest Love of All this August.

Two years since performing to sold-out audiences, Belinda Davids is back in Johannesburg with this year’s dose of her Whitney Houston tribute show. Named The Greatest Love of All after the late R&B icon’s chart-topping cover of George Benson’s 1977 hit, the show comes back to the Joburg Theatre on 22 and 23 August, but Belinda has a special surprise this year.
South Africa’s internationally celebrated songstress sensation says Whitney Houston is the ultimate appeal of the show, and the reason it keeps on coming back is because people will always love her music. The Greatest Love of All is usually staged for two nights, but due to popular demand, this year’s special surprise is a third night on 28 August that Belinda has added.
“We used to do longer runs in Johannesburg when the show first debuted, but as the popularity of the show has grown, there just isn’t enough time to fit in every city in the world that we want to go to!”
The show debuted at this very theatre in 2012, and the Gqeberha-born musician has since graced a host of stages across New Zealand, the UK, Asia and the Americas.
It’s been more than a decade since the My Love is Your Love hitmaker passed on, but her music continues to live on. Belinda is firm on reminding her fans that this show has no relationship with the late icon’s estate, but as a performer, what does it mean to her to keep her legendary sound alive?
“People seem to always remember her for her tragic death. I want them to remember her legacy, her music,” she asserts.
Belinda usually stages the show during National Women’s Month in her country. For Belinda, 2026 being the 70th anniversary of the iconic 9 August 1956 Women's March makes it even more special to stage this show about one of the most impactful musical women of our lifetime.
“It especially elevates the significance because she was a woman singing the soundtracks of our lives, and resonating with women in particular.”
All at Once and Just the Lonely Talking Again are Belinda’s favourite Whitney Houston hits, but the singer is tight-lipped about what the audience can expect, saying this would ruin the surprise.
