Sinn Restaurant

Launched in South Africa in September 2024, Sinn has quickly positioned itself as a standout dining destination in Sandton. It delivers a bold Italian-inspired experience where dinner truly becomes a matter of theatre, and pleasure is at the forefront of everything served. Sinn is a restaurant that offers pleasant unforgattable memories.

First Impressions & Atmosphere

From the moment you walk in, Sinn sets the tone. The dark, moody interiors, striking art pieces, and dramatic lighting create a sense of intimacy, exclusivity and romance. In fact, the restaurant became popular for its date night specials, which were sadly discontinued. However, I had the pleasure of taking my partner and enjoying the dining experience with him. That was deifinitely a good choice. 

We went on a Tuesday afternoon, so the restaurant was not packed.

One of the striking features about the decor is the ceiling designs which shift throughout the dining experience. The restaurant introduces different themes and moods that make the space feel dynamic. 

There’s a balance between privacy and vibrancy, with both a main dining area and more secluded spaces for intimate moments, perfect for date nights or special occasions.

The Food: A Perfect 10

Every dish served was nothing short of exceptional. A consistent 10/10 across the board.

* Complimentary bread: Crisp on the outside, soft and silky on the inside - the perfect way to start the dining experience. 

Starters:
* The mussels in a creamy chardonnay sauce with lemon & parsley were rich and very tasty. 
* If you love prawns, then I will definitely recommend that you try the chilli chorizo prawns with baby marrow mousse. They were bold, flavourful, and beautifully balanced.

Mains:
* Seared salmon with lemon dill cream was mouth-watering and indulgent. It is the perfect dish for sea-food lovers. 
* The lamb chops dish was easily among the best. It was juicy, tender, and packed with flavour. The best lamb chops I've ever eaten. 
* The lamb shank hot pot was a standout dish -  served on roasted butternut risotto with feta. The butternut and feta made the dish hearty, warm, and unforgettable.
* The short rib was cooked to perfection, rich and satisfying.

 Desserts:
* Because I am someone with a sweet tooth, I was looking forward to the dessert, and I am glad they didn't dissappoint. The tiramisu cakes were classic and delicious while the cheesecake was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with a silky texture.

Drinks

The mocktails were just as impressive:

* Garden of Eden - refreshing and well-balanced.
* Black Widow - slightly sweet, and delicious. 

Service & Overall Experience

Service at Sinn complements the entire experience. The waiters don’t just serve. Each dish is presented with care, explained thoughtfully, and paired with recommendations that enhance the flavours. The attention to detail makes you feel guided through a curated culinary journey rather than just a meal.

Final Verdict

Sinn is a 10/10 in every category — food, service, ambience, and overall experience.

Whether you’re planning a romantic date, a proposal, or simply want to impress, Sinn delivers on every level. It’s also the perfect spot for those who love capturing beautiful dining moments on camera. 

The restaurant is a true gem in Sandton’s dining scene.
