The First National Bank Stadium (FNB Stadium) – also known as Soccer City – is an iconic landmark located in the heart of Soweto, Johannesburg. Originally constructed in 1989, the stadium underwent a major renovation in 2009 in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
FNB Stadium holds a special place in South African history. It was the site of Nelson Mandela’s first public speech in Johannesburg following his release from prison, making it a symbol of unity and transformation.
With a seating capacity of 94,736, it is the largest stadium in Africa, and an architectural marvel in its own right.
Beyond sporting events, the stadium hosts an array of concerts, conferences, private and corporate events, and other social gatherings. Guests can enjoy exceptional culinary offerings, thanks to experienced in-house chefs who provide world-class cuisine with a variety of customisable menu options.
For added convenience, the venue also features ample on-site parking for up to 4,000 vehicles.
