Old Park Station, a 255-metre-long transit structure, was opened in 1896 and designed by Dutch architect and railway engineer Jacob Frederik Klinkhamer.
Once a lively hub buzzing with travellers, the station also featured shops and a restaurant, making it a popular meeting spot in its day. Now mostly quiet and unused, the site occasionally bursts back into life with big concerts, gatherings, and events.
Its historic structure still stands proudly, clearly visible from Nelson Mandela Bridge.
