Star chef Michael Mina’s first steakhouse has proved to be a hit-or-miss experience. Some diners call it the best steak and service they’ve ever had; others proclaim it "terrible". The food isn’t bad, but at prices this high ($25 for a waygu burger; $59 for a 10oz filet mignon), it needs to be dazzling. It’s rarely quite that good. The slow-poached prime rib is the best bet, but that said, do try one of the supreme desserts. The open-plan restaurant area can get pretty loud when it’s busy, which is reasonably often.
