The vibe: Whether you reserve a table by the window for Strip views or sit in the middle of the sleek dining room among the bonsai trees and bamboo place mats, the relaxing atmosphere is a world away from the bustle of the mall it’s located in.
The food: Diners can enjoy vegetable tempura, shishito peppers and a vast array of fresh, flown-in-daily sushi, nigiri and sashimi. Sushi Roku’s signature menu items include Hanabi (crispy rice topped with your choice of spicy tuna, avocado, yellowtail or Wagyu) and entrees that include Jidori chicken, soy garlic filet mignon, teriyaki-glazed grilled salmon and a truffle miso Chilean sea bass.
The drink: The restaurant has a full bar with Asahi Super Dry on draft and a number of bottled beers. There’s also an extensive cocktail and mocktail list. The Empress Kiss combines vodka, sake, lavender, yuzu and a splash of champagne, while Heat of the Dragon comes in hot with Patron silver tequila taken up a notch with kumquat serrano syrup.
Time Out tip: Sushi Roku has a daily happy hour (4pm-6pm) where everything from a ginger lychee martini to small dishes like shishito peppers, vegetable tempura, and rib-eye wrapped asparagus are all under $12.
