Seminar: Fakes and Forgeries

Exceptional fakes of medieval armour were produced during the gothic revival movement of the nineteenth century, in order to meet the increasing demand. Karen Watts, senior curator of armour and art, and Ian Bottomley, curator emeritus, discuss how these fakes were made and the ways they can be identified.
