Femi Kuti: What's Going On

Film, Documentaries

Time Out says

Absorbing fly-on-the-wall portrait of the Nigerian singer Femi Kuti - son of the late, great Fela. Goldstein follows him recording in Paris, London and New York, then back to Lagos, where he maintains his home, and is building a club called Shrine, dedicated to his father's memory and to the popular democratic struggle. Fans won't find much new here, and it doesn't dig deep enough either into the memory of Fela or Femi's more pragmatic politics, but it's still a good introduction to the sound and fury of Afro-beat.
