Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

This documentary meets 11 elderly gay French men and women – some in couples, some living alone – who talk about their lives to camera with an illuminating mix of candour, wisdom, humour and sorrow. Director Sébastien Lifshitz takes us close to his subjects with in-depth interviews, and also draws on personal photos and home-movie footage. ‘Les Invisibles’ is a rare window into lives that straddle late twentieth-century equality revolutions – and each interviewee offers a uniquely personal journey to the point in their lives at which they encounter them. It’s an inspiring, often surprising watch.
