Local boy Menelik Shabazz directs this insightful documentary about dating and relationships in the black community

You’d think that the topic of love is so well covered in just about every form of media imaginable that a two-hour doc on relationships might be a touch redundant. But Menelik Shabazz’s unique approach to tackling the subject of intimacy within the black British community has got something new to say. In a mix of vox pops, interviews with relationship counsellors and comedians (including Andi Osho), music and spoken word, ‘Looking for Love’ seamlessly shifts between incisive and amusing, exploring issues ranging from the lasting impact of slavery on gender dynamics to the politics of oral sex.
