Time Out says
At 9.22 pm on November 15, 1972, Jack Dundee (Williams) dropped a catch in a game of American football and caused his team, the Taft Rockets, to lose to the rival town of Bakersfield. Thirteen years later he is still haunted by his error, which is hardly surprising considering that no one will let him forget it. Prompted by the friendly neighbourhood whore, Dundee decides to stage a rematch, and persuades his buddy, quarterback Russell, to help him. When their wives find out, they chuck them out, so both men have more than just their reputations to regain. Though it does have its moments, the result is never as funny as it should be. Williams and Russell, although fine individually, don't spark off each other as a comic duo should, and the ending is so predictable it's almost unexpected.
