One of the worst of the spate of rock extravaganzas churned out around this time. The core, with linking commentary by Vincent Price, is a live performance at the Albert Hall of the music Roger Glove scored for William Plomer's book (an adaptation of a 19th century fairytale), which is embroidered with 'imaginative' sequences meant to highlight the different songs. Klinger, who wrote, produced and directed this dinosaur, shows absolutely no insight into the visual presentation of hard rock or fantasy fiction. The imaginative sequences employ the most hackneyed of rock movie clichés, mushroom clouds, some Walt Disney wild life, a masked magician, and an Alice in Wonderland tea party. The only hint of life emerges in a brief animation sequence, which returns to Alan Aldridge's illustrations for the book. The music is equally arthritic. Devastatingly boring.
