Director Tim Story returns with much of the cast of 2012’s 'Think Like a Man' for a sequel that’s stronger than the original. The setting is Las Vegas, where Cedric (Kevin Hart), Kristen (Gabrielle Union), Lauren (Taraji P. Henson) and others are meeting up for their friends’ respective bachelor and bachelorette bashes.
The entertaining story about the pitfalls of excessive partying isn’t as over-the-top as 'The Wolf of Wall Street' (what could be?), but the characters find a nice pocket of problems to explore. How does the movie manage to convey a sense of debauchery without incorporating prostitution, sex and chronic drug use? Two words: Kevin Hart. His erratic antics are powered by a bacchanalian energy, and Sin City gives him a big playground in which to zoom around; he’s matched in commitment by rising star Terrence Jenkins as the film’s good guy, who delivers the sole piece of noncomic drama, standing up to an overbearing mother.
