Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars
Britain’s finest indie record label (sorry, Factory) gets its own warts-and-all doc, and the result is as you’d expect: rock ’n’ roll dignitaries from Bobby Gillespie and Noel Gallagher down to the singer of Superstar spill stories of E-fuelled excess and financial indiscretion, watched over by former pop princeling Alan McGee. The problem with a film like ‘Upside Down’ is that the story is too large for the format, leading to oversimplification and excision: was there really no room for Felt? And must we remember The Boo Radleys for their one annoying pop hit, rather than two albums of pure psychedelic genius? But, nerdy niggles aside, this is a solid slice of musical myth-making, and a fitting tribute to geniuses past.
