Time Out says

We never discover if Konraad's (Kamerman) suicide letter reaches his family in advance of his scheduled departure – a year to the day his wife past away. Time remains as paralyzed as writer-director Nanouk Leopold's clinical filming style while her characters are left to lug the weight of their apathy in and out of frame. Euthanasia, adultery and more abstractly, flesh, are distant themes which escape moral questioning at all times. Amplified sound provides the only passage into the characters' psyche; we hear and consequently feel every inch of Maria's (Catherine ten Bruggencate) butchered, cosmetic surgery-induced thighs as she soothes away with moisturizer while Haas (Merel van Houts) attempts to diffuse the tension by shattering glass, jolting the action but never quite offering it a heartbeat.
