THE HEMP FESTIVAL: EDUCATE & CULTIVATE

Sunday, Noon- 9 p.m.

Locust Grove will host a Hemp Festival on Sunday, August 9th. From Noon – 9 p.m. Learn about the past, present, and future of hemp cultivation for fiber, fuel, and food. Demonstrations of hemp growing, "braking", and spinning, paper making and activities for children.

* Speakers such as James Comer, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner (scheduled) , and others will speak and an opportunity to ask questions will follow.

* Enjoy hemp-based foods at the Hemp Café with hemp burgers and more and or food trucks and hemp beer.

* Shop for hemp products from our village of vendors, many will be giving away free items while supply lasts.
The band, Appalatin will perform at 7 p.m.

• Watch the films Hemp for Victory (WWII) in the air-conditioned auditorium and a new movie about hemp called Bringing it Home on a giant pop-up movie screen outside at 8 p.m. or dusk. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs for seating.

Locust Grove has just planted the first hemp crop in Louisville for the past 50 years. Come see this historic plant on an historic farm!
