Robin McKelle

Thanks to her contralto register, American singer Robin McKelle has been compared to Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin by some critics, and even to Janis Joplin and Tina Turner by others. But with her latest album, 'The Looking Glass' (2016), McKelle throws everyone off track with her more intimate tones and atmopsheres. She's fluent in the languages of southern soul and R&B, and she seasons her songs with a touch of good taste where jazz often figures.
