Levenshulme bakery and café Trove have revealed plans to double the size of their venue and extend their opening hours to open as a bar for drinks in the evening.

The bakery was originally founded by husband and wife team Marcus and Katy in 2011 and started out by selling products on market stalls across Manchester before launching their café in Levenshulme. They focus on sourdough bread and seasonal produce for their menu, with everything from the sauces on their sandwiches to their cakes made on site.

Trove are now planning to expand the size of their venue and have launched a Kickstarter in a bid to secure the funds. Their current café has seating for 20 customers and they’re planning to add a further 20 seats and make use of their small outdoor area.

Plans to extend their opening hours are also on the agenda. They currently open until 5pm Monday-Saturday and 4pm on Sundays, but they want to apply for an alcohol licence to serve local ales and organic wines in the evening.

Trove are looking to raise £35,000 on Kickstarter by Thursday December 3 to support the plans. They’ve currently secured about £3,500 towards their goal with 27 days to go.

Trove, 1032 Stockport Road, Levenshulme.
