A new public artwork allowing you to see Spinningfields through a spectrum of colours has been unveiled.

‘Through No. 3’ by Liz West is a six-metre long triangular prism of light and colour which will be at Crown Square until Wednesday January 6 2016. The walk-in sculpture will allow visitors to see their surroundings in a different light – quite literarily. Members of the public are encouraged to walk through the work to see the local area through a spectrum of colours.

Liz West, who lives in Manchester, was recently commissioned by the Science Museum London to create a new installation for the National Media Museum in Bradford named ‘An Additive Mix’, and has recently been announced as one of ten winners of the Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Awards 2015.

Castlefield Gallery has managed the commissioning of the work, which is the first bespoke public art for Spinningfields.

‘Through No. 3’, November 26-January 6, Crown Square, Spinningfields.
