Manchester may not hold a Michelin star (yet) but one of the city’s best restaurants has been honoured in the latest Good Food Guide.
Simon Rogan’s The French has been named at 17th place in the Good Food Guide’s top 50 restaurants – the only Manchester eatery to gain a spot in the list with a score of 8/10.
Another of Rogan’s restaurants, L’Enclume in Cumbria, has taken the top spot for the third year in a row with a perfect 10 while his London operation Fera at Claridges came in at 12th.
Other sites in the North West on the list include Fraiche on the Wirral at 9, and two locations in the Ribble Valley - The Freemasons at Wiswell at 42, and Northcote at 50.
The Good Food Guide has also released a list of the top 50 pubs alongside the restaurant guide – with a venue in Saddleworth receiving a place on the countdown.
The White Hart in Lydgate has been ranked at 41.
