Head to the Faena Hotel tonight through Sunday at 8pm and look up into the sky. It’s not a bird or a plane—but something in between: 300 drones flying in a dazzling formation of light.
The performance is technically a ”flying sculpture“ called Franchise Freedom. The whole thing is a collaboration between Intel, Studio Drift and BMW.
The Intel Shooting Star drones won't be controlled individually, but rather by an algorithm that guarantees each flight will be unique (and also that the 300 drones won’t crash into each other). This week’s string of flights are free and open to the public—just another in a series of awesome free installations happening at the Faena Art District this week.
