Roberta Brown Author says
Roberta Brown reads from The Shoulding: A Story of Resilience and Hope
The Shoulding: A Story of Resilience and Hope is Brown's true journey from being a child-abuse and domestic-abuse survivor to the happy, healthy person she is today. Each chapter takes the reader through her dysfunctional relationships and how that dysfunction impacted every aspect of her life. Brown suffered through agoraphobia, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. At age fifty-one, Brown got the final piece of the puzzle that set her free and led her to emotional and mental health.

Raised in a middle-class Jewish home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, no one had any idea what was going on behind closed doors. The goal of The Shoulding: A Story of Resilience and Hope is to help others.

Roberta Brown was born and raised in a suburb of Minneapolis. She always has written, whether it was in journals, short stories in writing classes in high school or business letters with a clever twist. Roberta's obsession with Cher and Cher's nails led her to go to cosmetology school and get her manicuring license. After being in the beauty business for 20 years, an anxiety disorder forced her to change directions. Roberta reinvented herself and started her own business as a marketing consultant and client services director working from home. That business is small and going strong to this day. The Shoulding: A Story of Resilience and Hope is her first book. Roberta continues to live in the Minneapolis area with her cats, better known as her "fuzzy children."
