Cafe Imports says
Six coffee producers from around the world are joining us on tour to three US cities this February 2016. This tour is an incredible opportunity for these producers to engage and share information freely with the local coffee communities of the cities on the tour. During this day-long event near the Cafe Imports HQ in Minneapolis, MN, we will be offering free classes on agronomy, coffee processing, cupping, flavor, and other areas of coffee science in which this group are experts. We will be bringing along some of our most important coffee-producing partners, to allow them to share their experience and, in a sense, bring origin to you and your community. They are very excited about this opportunity to engage with you.

The event will be a daylong exploration of coffee knowledge; giving attendees the chance to gain insights into the entire coffee supply chain - from seed to cup! Flavor experiences and other activies are planned for the day as well.
Each speaker on the producer tour will give a general overview of their respective origin and organization, while focusing on the following topics:

Juan Jose Moguel - Finca Nueva Linda, Mexico on the topic of moving from commodity grade coffee into the specialty realm as well as the challenges that are unique to Mexican specialty coffee producers.

Jacques Carneiro - Carmo Coffees, Brazil on the topics of pruning, productivity and innovative agricultural practices unique to Brazilian producers

Oscar and Francisca Chacon - Finca Las Lajas, Costa Rica on the topics of processing methods, the importance of sustainable farming and the emergence of Costa Rican microlots.

Jairo Ruiz and Elkin Guzman - Banexport, Colombia on the topics of experimental processing methods, an overview of the coffee supply chain, exportation and maintaining quality control in different buys.

These legenday producers will then group together and join the Cafe Imports team for a roundtable discussion and Q & A where we will tackle other topics in the specialty coffee field, as well answer any questions sourced by our audience. This is your chance to gain insight into the green coffee world; if you have any questions / topics for this portion of the event, please email those to LEGENDARY@CAFEIMPORTS.COM.

Be sure to join us at the Cafe Imports Warehosue Afterparty at 7PM - 600 Hoover Street NE Minneapolis, MN 55413.
