Drive-in movie theatres will be able to begin reopening as of Friday, May 29, and the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion—just off the island of Montreal—has plans to create a new one for anyone who wants to pull up and watch the show.

Following the announcement made by Quebec's Culture Minister Nathalie Roy on May 22, four kinds of cultural offerings will be made available as of this Friday: Museums in Montreal will be slowly reopening, as well as libraries, drive-in theatres and recording studios with an empahsis on streamed performances.

Vaudreuil-Dorion announced its intention to open a new, temporary drive-in movie theatre on April 24, according to the area's regional news source La Voix Régionale. In a follow-up story on May 20Vaudreuil-Dorion Mayor Guy Pilon told the outlet that the project was "95% complete... There is only one point left to check. We want the user to be able to choose the language they want to listen to the film. It's the only thing left."

The drive-in will be erected in the parking lot of the Cité-des-Jeunes high school campus, along the waters of the Baie de Vaudreuil. The plan for the drive-in is to screen  films for as many as 90 cars, and it's looking into the possibility of adding a second screen along with translations for French and English films, according to a report from the Montreal Gazette.

Admission will be $10 per car, and concessions won't be offered, but customers will be welcome to bring their own snacks. “We’re not there to make money, just to give something to the citizens,” Pilon told the Gazette.

The city has not yet posted its opening of the drive-in movie theatre on its events calendar yet; check back in regularly here for the next announcement or follow them on Facebook.
