Air Canada is providing reimbursement assistance for passengers affected by the recent strike

Passengers must fill out a form with flight details and provide a reason for their refund.

The airline specifies that the form should only be completed by passengers who booked directly with Air Canada, completed part of their journey with Air Canada and/or need reimbursement for an alternative mode of transportation.

Time Out Tip: Make sure that “Refund Assistance due to Labour Action” is included in the message field marked “Subject”.

What's the catch? Not all passengers are being encouraged to fill out the assistance form.

Passengers should not fill out the form if they booked through Aeroplan, via a travel agent or online travel agency or with another airline.

Hundreds of thousands of passengers were affected by the Air Canada flight attendants’ work stoppage.

Flights began resuming Tuesday afternoon after the airline reached a tentative deal with the union representing over 10,000 attendants.

While details of the agreement are still emerging, according to a report by CTV news flight attendants should receive a salary increase.

They will also start being paid for pre-flight duties on the ground: 50% of their salary for one hour before departure on smaller planes, and 70 minutes for larger aircraft.
