Why we’ve changed our logo to Time In — for now

We want to make this change temporarily to reflect Montreal's ongoing status with coronavirus

Hello Montreal,

Following yesterday’s announcements made by Quebec premier François Legault and our city’s own mayor Valérie Plante, the message is clear: Precautions need to be put into place to limit the spread of coronavirus.

We’ve changed our logo temporarily to acknowledge this, but rest assured: We here at Time Out Montreal will continue to help you discover the best of your city, whether it's Time Out or Time In.

Over the next few days, you’ll be seeing a local guide to closures and cancellations in the city from us, as well as an FAQ that explains coronavirus—the Montreal way.

For now, there are a lot of ongoing preparations across Montreal to stymie any chance of coronavirus spreading, and while that means that there are a lot of cancellations and closures happening, we here at Time In Montreal want to continue to encourage Montrealers to make the most of their city while encouraging safe and healthy actions, whether they want to go out or stay in.

Whether it was Chinatown in the early stages of Montreal’s experiences with coronavirus or every café, restaurant, bar, gallery, event and beyond in the future, we’re expecting that independent businesses will be among the hardest hit by the current situation. That’s why we’re saying: We’re here for you. We’ve got your back. We’re going to champion what businesses and attractions do so well for us, whether or not people are able to go out.

As for when this all passes?

We’ll be in the first in line among many eager Montrealers looking forward to resuming everyday life to grab that coffee, eat that meal, drink that cocktail, get stupefied by that attraction, applaud that show, and enjoy living in one of the greatest cities in the world.

With lots of love,

JP Karwacki
