Young women, you probably shouldn’t pose for topless pics even if you need the cash. You might end up like poor Angelina (Ashley Hinshaw) and soon find yourself moving to big bad San Francisco, where you’ll fall in with the fetish-porn crowd, get cruised by your lesbian director (Heather Graham) and become involved with a coke-snorting, self-loathing rich d-bag (James Franco). Remember: Topless pics equals gateway drug! Given that porn star and academic Lorelei Lee cowrote the script, we can assume that the film’s portrayal of the cine-erotica industry is accurate. Which simply means that, while totally botching little things like how people speak, act and live in the real world, the film gets at least one thing right.
