Time Out says

A friendship with undocumented Mexican day laborer Ignacio (Castillo) broadens the perspective of unemployed Queens average-joe Bruno (Famiglietti) about Mexicans and illegal immigration. So much so that he begins waiting for work alongside Ignacio and other laborers and learning Spanish, and is called an “Amexicano” as a term of endearment. When Ignacio is deported, Bruno is determined to help him return to the U.S., regardless of the consequences. Unfortunately, the biggest hazard the characters face is not the migra or the desert, but inept writing and, with the exception of Castillo’s tender and earnest Ignacio, the cast’s flat, amateurish performances.
