Anna and the King of Siam

A lavish entertainment based on the real-life experiences of English governess Margaret Langdon, who arrived in Siam in 1862 to teach the King's 67 children. Sumptuous sets, exceptional photography (Arthur Miller), and some crisp verbal exchanges between the strong-willed King of Thailand and his new employee give Cromwell's light comedy the edge over the later musical version of the same story, The King and I, starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr.
