When Caroline (Marguerite Moreau) visits her sister, Jackie (Bitsie Tulloch), she ambushes her sibling with a surprise intervention. As the odd, potentially unstable Caroline questions Jackie about her supposed anorexia, drug abuse and alcoholism, viewers are left to wonder: Could this whole thing be an elaborate hoax, done with the unwitting collusion of friends and boyfriends? For a while, Adam Christian Clark’s existentially slippery drama maintains a perfect balance between the two possibilities. But before long, the film spills over into a far less intriguing, and somewhat questionable, portrait of one hysterical woman.
