This political thriller looks meatier than your average Bollywood movie, exploring the meaty issue of the Naxalites – extreme leftist guerillas in India. It’s the story of two friends. Adil (Arjun Rampal) is a police officer investigating the massacre of over 70 policemen in a Maoist controlled area. His directionless friend Kabir (Abhay Deol) offers to infiltrate the group, but once inside discovers another side of the story, becoming drawn to activists fighting for the rural poor who have been brutally displaced in the name of progress. According to some estimates, there are as a many 10,000 full-time Maoist combatants in India, with many more part-time activists and supporters.
