A worthy film about the elderly - in the style of a road movie with docu-drama trimmings. The protagonist is a taciturn widower (Halldorsson) brought up in the savage northern fjords and mountains, which he abandoned for a lonely sheep farmer's life in the verdant southern pastures. The film starts with him - having shot his old dog - quitting his shack and paying an unannounced visit to his married daughter and family in Reykjavik. They quickly move him into an old people's home, where he meets a fiery old flame. Sympathetic tone but sketchy characters.
