Victor Nunez (Ruby in Paradise, Ulee’s Gold) is known for his understated dramas of everyday life on Florida’s Gulf Coast. But the line between understatement and listlessness is a thin one, and Nunez crosses it in this long-undistributed feature. Sonny (Olyphant), a small-time drug dealer released from prison early, wants to collect the $200,000 that his confederates owe him. Meanwhile, he shakes up the settled lives of his friend Dave (Brolin), a cop, and Dave’s restless wife, Ann (Wynter). Yet there’s no crackle of suspense or sexual tension; we may be in the steamy Panhandle, but these people barely break a sweat. (Now playing; IFC Center.)—Tom Beer
