A fascinating little documentary made while at film school by the writer/director of the wonderful Happy Man. Szumowska gathers together a number of friends and asks them a few very basic questions about their lives, hopes, anxieties and dreams - a simple but surprisingly illuminating strategy also used previously by Kieslowski. Some of the responses are eloquent, others not, but what makes the film really intriguing is how it subtly shows the mostly young subjects presenting themselves to the camera/film-maker/audience: what they say can be less revealing than how they say it.
