As if the life of artist Egon Schiele weren’t controversial enough—Schiele was brought up on charges of pornography and seducing minors—local filmmaker Dukavicius throws incest and a penchant for dueling into this deliberately fictionalized portrait. Taking on the title role as well as directing, Dukavicius is interesting to watch even when he’s overacting, but his pacing is slack and the tone shifts awkwardly from dramatic to parodic. Still, Dukavicius does a lot on a budget that probably didn’t include shoestrings
