In January 1981, the Farabundo Marti Liberation Front launched a General Offensive represented as a failure by the US and international press. However, this film, shot after the offensive in the liberated zone east of the capital, presents a highly organised guerilla army with high morale and the overwhelming support of the peasant population. The interview format allows time for peasant fighters to speak not only of the current situation, but of the years of poverty and daily oppression motivating the war.
