Time Out says
2 out of 5 stars
his Brit-produced account of how South African power brokers ended apartheid tries to turn history into a sensationalistic Paul Greengrass action movie, disorienting viewers with jump cuts and handheld shaky cam. But once the key players convene in a series of backroom dealings, Endgame is indeed afoot; William Hurt and Chiwetel Ejiofor, impressive at opposite ends of the table as a government mouthpiece and a philosophy professor, provide all the fireworks the story needs. Fans of The Wire, take note: Clarke “Lester Freamon” Peters does an impressive turn as Nelson Mandela.
