Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

Another comedy about a deadpan twentysomething unhappy in work and love? Wait—this Canadian feature, from a screenplay by author Douglas Coupland, is more charming than it ought to be. Slacker Ryan (Costanzo) lands a job at the British Columbia lottery and pines for Ming (Song), whose slick boyfriend, Bryce (Bourne), talks him into a money-laundering scheme involving the lottery winners. Appealing performances by Costanzo and Song, with comic support from Ryan’s entrepreneurial parents and Ming’s knife-wielding granny, guide us over the rough patches. Now can Generation X grow up already? (Opens Fri; Landmark Sunshine.) — Tom Beer
