Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Like its pop-documentary predecessors, Joe Cross's chronicle of his quest to ditch autoimmune-disease medication and drop weight via a 60-day juice fast feels obligated to treat its audience like children via juvenile-jokey cartoon montages. (Enough with the animated spoons full of sugar to help the informational medicine go down already!) It's a shame, given that his self-portrait is otherwise stirring and levelheaded. Following his mission---which takes him across the USA and inspires others to save themselves from fatal obesity---you feel like you're watching a gonzo, if somewhat gimmicky, approach to advocating healthy living; it's like Super Size Me in reverse.
