Now in its 35th year, the women’s film festival includes works from female directors in the earliest days of cinema (Alice Guy, Germaine Dulac) and meetings with contemporary ones (Jeanne Balibar). A huge mixture of works on all aspects of female experience with a rigorously international focus, you could see anything from Kim Ki-young’s ‘Servant’ to Luis Bunuel’s ‘Journal d'une femme de chambre’ or a rare feature from Margarether von Trotta on Hannah Arendt. Most films are in French or VOST, though there are a couple in English. Great if you can read subtitles.
