Potentially interesting martial arts caper of battle against a Rajneesh-like guru, allowed to stagnate in a mire of sickening gore, endless destruction, and simplistic, humourless sermonising. As the stereotypically mixed Force: Five - a black, a Chicano, a woman, a psychotic, and a Handsome Leader - sets out to save gullible disciples from the wicked Reverend Rhee's Palace of Celestial Tranquillity (a minotaur's labyrinth of torture and carnage), it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish morally between the opposing sides. All the breathtaking brutality makes for tiresome viewing.
