Time Out says

When ex-cop Tertius Coetzee (Vosloo) heads to the South African fishing town of Paternoster to meet the relatives of Daniel Grootboom, an antiapartheid activist he killed ten years earlier, Daniel’s siblings are initially unwelcoming (brother Ernest clobbers the penitent visitor with a pot). However, once they become involved in an assassination plot, the Grootbooms are forced to prolong Tertius’s stay until Daniel’s vengeance-seeking friends show up, and they eventually discover the truth about the circumstances surrounding his death. Though the film tends to plod, Vosloo’s restrained performance makes the family’s catharsis moving rather than maudlin. (Opens Fri; Quad.)—Erin Clements
