Sketchy but intriguing documentary aboutone man's struggle to instil black pride intothe impoverished 'village' of St Paul in East Brooklyn. Radical Christian preacher Dr Johnny Ray has a mission, and self-acknowledged charisma. But as we follow him from sermons and men's consciousness-raising sessions to his Mississippi home, the precise import of his ideas (including voluntary segregation for the black community) are never fully examined - a pity, since his influence on his parishioners is evidently substantial.
