Time Out says

No-holds-barred four-letter words, strong acting from a name American-Italian cast and good writing from Steve Shagan add up to the life and crimes of the 'Teflon Don', John Gotti, who murdered his way to the top of the Gambino crime family of New York. There are some strange sanitisations: Gotti is known to have personally dismembered the neighbour who accidentally ran over his beloved son. Here the neighbour is simply shot by Gotti's close associate and betrayer Sam Gravano, who is now part of the witness protection program and presumably can't complain. A touch of cynical humour perhaps? Assante excels as Gotti, a man of undoubted complexity, while Quinn as his mentor Neil DeLaCroce absolutely peels away the years. Highly recommended.
