Time Out says

Empty platitudes about the healing power of religious faith give shallow meaning to the story of a depressed atheist (Wilson) whose house is declared a shrine when the face of Jesus appears on its facade. Poor pacing, uninspired writing, painfully obvious plot points and a “just believe” message of redemption shape this insultingly simplistic parable about despair. Mark Pellington’s music-video aesthetic adds insult to injury: Why develop character when you’ve got stylish images and music full of weepy uplift?
